When does the WINTER Season start?
The Season begins on November 4th with our practices after TRYOUTS on OCT 28-29-30. There are no practices on OCT 31 - as it is Halloween.
Who can participate in Winter?
Boys and Girls 1st- 10th Grade Grade Athletes.
Where do you all Practice & Offer Skill sessions?
Where do you all play your games? Leagues games for boys are played at Sportsplex Games ... League game for girls are played at Grapevine Fieldhouse. Tournament play is mostly all local and located at Duncanville, Desoto, Lake Dallas, Lewisville and Carrollton - these are typically 2-4 game formats and all games are played on Saturday/Sunday. Tourney Teams can expect to play in a minimum of 8 tourneys in Winter and some can require travel.
TSG COMBINE - B.A.M. Testing - what is that and who has to participate?
Starting this Winter we will require all of our athletes (5th thru HS Age Athletes) to get tested for a Basic Athletic Measurement score. This score will allow parents and athletes to see where their athlete measures out versus a National & Local database.
For Instance: If your 8th grade boy scores a 72 and the varsity level player at his High School scores an 87 - we can shopw them where those defecincies are then develop a plan to correct those before they start High School. If you have a 5th Grader and you want them to make the junior High Team we can give you the comparative data so you can see where your child is and we can message to them appropriately.
All athletes that will participate in the Winter Season in Grades 5th-HS will be required to receive this testing. BAM does all the testing for the NBA DRAFT Combine, NCAA Testing and WNBA Pre Draft Testing - They have the largest database in the world of athletes data that can be used to analyze and provide athletes feedback to where they are and where they have the biggest gaps.
TSG COMBINE CAMP (Grades 5th-8th Boys & Girls)
NOV. 3rd, 2024 - 3:00PM - 8:00PM ... We will have different sessions based on age specific categories. Please be available for a 1 hour session. $115 per athlete.
What does a player get?
We will host 100 workouts over 20 weeks for players ... We will offer/schedule 26-50 games for athletes to participate in based on the teams' availability. Most 9th-Varsity Teams play 30 games in a season - so if your thinking an athlete only needs the 10-14 games provided by their schools, we would suggest participating to prepare them for what comes next.
What are the roster sizes for the winter season?
Well, we list more kids than actually play in the games but we prefer to have 7-9 kids at each and every game - we sometimes ask kids to play on other rosters to manage the size of the team. We utilize TEAM SNAP to make sure we can manage the numbers effectively.
TEAM SNAP UPDATE:
All players/parents need to respond to TEAM SNAP so we can make sure we have the appropriate numbers for our games. If people have responded as a MAYBE or DO NOT RESPOND they will be marked as a NO 24 hours before the event and WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO PLAY. This "NO list" will be shared with all of our COACHES this winter and will not be allowed to just show up and expect to play. The parents pay for this tool and NEED to uitilize it. We post all game times as soon as we get them.
